My Testimony

In a few hours I will be set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. I just wanted everyone to know how grateful I am for all of you and all the love and guidance you have shown me throughout my life. I would also like to share with you my testimony of the truthfulness of Jesus Christ and I hope that all of you will do as Joseph Smith did upon reading James 1: 5-6, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind."

I would like to share my testimony that I stand as a witness of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ as his only true church on the earth; based upon a foundation built up by many different things. Through church meetings, seminary, personal scripture study and prayer I have come to develop a personal relationship with our Father in Heaven, along with his son, our brother and redeemer, Jesus Christ, and also in the Holy Ghost. I know that because of the earth’s ill prepared state at the time of Christ’s ministry there was a great apostasy in which the full truthfulness of thy gospel was lost. I also have a testimony that this truthfulness was later restored through the faith of a 14 year old boy who had enough faith to heed to the teachings of the Lord given in James 1:5 and asked of God, “which is the true church,” with a true and sincere heart. I also know that he received an answer to his prayer in which he was told that no full truthfulness remained, but through him, God would return the true church to the earth again. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God, making it possible for people worldwide to read of Christ’s visit to the Americas and of prophets not talked about in the Bible, granting us another witness of Jesus Christ for people to strengthen their own testimonies. I also know that through the power of God the keys of the priesthood were restored to the earth, allowing ordinances such as baptisms to once again take place. I know that through living “Christ’s Gospel” we can all return to our father in heaven again. I know that because of these truths which have been made manifest to me I will diligently serve the next two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Clayton's "Farewell"

Clayton did an excellent job on his talk.
There was an amazing spirit as he shared his deep
feelings and emotions of the gospel.
The Marshall Branch is always so supportive
and it was great to have his friends attend.
We especially loved having what family that could attend,
but if you notice the edges of the group photo;
they are blurred to included all our family
that we know were there in their hearts
even if the miles were many.<3

My Missionary Commission

by Elder Bruce R. McConkie
From The Harvester
I am called of God. My authority is above that of kings of the earth. Byrevelation I have been selected as a personal representative of the LordJesus Christ. He is my master and He has chosen me to represent Him--tostand in His place, to say and do what He Himself would say and do if Hepersonally were ministering to the very people to whom He has sent me. Myvoice is His voice, and my acts are His acts; my doctrine is His doctrine. My Commission is to do what He wants done; To say what He wants said; tobe a living modern witness in word and in deed of the divinity of hisgreat and marvelous Latter-day work. How great is my calling!

Blog for Bubba

I thought that this would be a great way for all of us to stay informed on how Clayton is doing on his mission. I know he will be busy and probably will not have the time to write to each of us every week. So, I created this blog so that we can post tidbits from his letters, or scan in his letters, whatever people feel comfortable with, so that we can all keep up to date with his progress. We are all so proud of him and want to support him 200% while he his gone. I figured this way we would always be aware of how he is.
